From the year 2002 GUP has been running a Project for the elimination of Child Labor in Park circus in Ward no. 61 of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Under this project GUP has been successfully running one Special School for child laborers under the sponsorship of Kolkata Child Labor Rehabilitation cum Welfare Society (an autonomous body of the Dept. of Labor, Govt. of West Bengal), where 50 child laborers are getting education, Vocational Training, nutritious mid day meal, medical facilities etc. They are also enjoying sports, cultural and recreational programmers. All the target children of the school are provided with stipend facilities each @ Rs. 100/- per month. GUP has already rehabilitated 250 child labors in three batches from 2002 to 2015. Moreover, GUP is continuously undertaking strong Campaign Programme to stop employment of child labor in any kind of establishment in West Bengal.
